Robert Rauschenberg was one of the artist I highly regarded when I first started studying art back in Canterbury. His invention of a new form of art-making that moved freely among media and methods is what I found the most compelling. This hugely influenced the way I started to approach art and still work today.
The Tate Modern is currently exhibiting a full-scale restropective of the artist. It folllows a loose chronology, with each room presenting a particular shift in technique or mode of working. I urge you to go and see it if you havent yet.
